Sarah and I just watched a documentary on HBO called "The Young and the Dead". This is what IMDB says about it:

The Hollywood Memorial Park cemetery was run down and bankrupt. Tyler Cassity, a young visionary from St. Louis, bought it for a song. Not only did he renovate the cemetery (the burial place of many of Hollywood's most famous actors and filmmakers), he is in the process of remaking the whole funeral industry, by focusing on the memorial aspects, producing documentaries of the lives of even ordinary people. The hip but respectful and caring approach is in vivid contrast to the traditional funeral business, represented here by Forest Lawn.



It was a very moving look at how the funeral business is changing and there is digital storytelling all over the place. They idea is to have a kiosk with 15 minute biographies for each person buried there.

Their website (http://www.hollywoodforever.com/default.htm)  says they "believe its time cemeteries offered more than a name and date etched in stone. That's why Hollywood Forever Cemetery is a "Library of Lives", with thousands of interactive LifeStories, made from film clips, photos, written and spoken words." This certainly captures Joe Lambert's ideal.
