 The folks over at Google have beta’d a new site called Google University.
It allows you access to GMail, Talk, SMS, Maps, Toolbars, Google Scholar (an academic search
engine) and Picassa. I doubt it will be come my mail page but I definitely
adding Goggle scholar to my search site list.

 We all know and love those HP commercials with the guy and
the picture frame and Ray Davies singing “Picture Book”. Now a kid in Arizona has copied it
and I thought it was a cool mixture of low tech and high tech. What someone can
do in their own home now is so amazing.

 The forerunner of VoIP applications on the net, Skype, has been
bought by Ebay and I am left wondering why. With SIP essentially built into
every Windows machine and MSN Messenger and Yahoo already offering the same
service for free I can’t imagine paying 2.6 billion for Skype. Hats off to the
folks at Skype, but the technology is really not worth it.
